About Tessedan DeValere
Tessedan writes fantasy fiction exploring the jagged edges of magic, romance, and heartfelt tragedy. Before turning to writing, he spent nearly a decade as a software engineer—a career spent navigating various game engines and complex codebases.
His journey began at Full Sail University, where he studied game development focused in computer science. It was here that the foundations for the New Vessel universe were laid. For years, he envisioned his characters moving through their fictional world, until he realized it could all be more.
In 2015, while continuing his work as a software engineer, he began a nine-year process of world-building and total rewrites to complete New Vessel, his debut novel.
Tessedan finds himself defined by an unintentional oxymoron: a computer science background used to build a world of dark fantasies. This contrast carries into his branding.
While his logo features a cute sloth, the pages of his work carry a content warning for graphic violence and mature themes. Whether he is writing code or navigating the suffocating depths of Osalde, Tessedan remains dedicated to the architecture of the worlds he creates.
